iqKey for fast Gatekeeper access

Use Case

You want to:

  • use Gatekeeper to check in attendees

  • involve students or colleagues in that process

  • not have to field endless phone calls about logging in "and then what"

The iqKey is the solution. With a single scan they'll be logged in and dropped off on the right event to start scanning immediately.

You will want to configure this well before the event is set to start. It takes a moment!

Process Overview

  • Log in to admin

  • Go to Security

  • Tap Configure iqKey

  • Create an iqKey

  • give it a name, leave yourself a note, and select the event (or event bundle) it's valid for, then save

Distribution

Two ways to share!

  1. top right - Print - pick paper size and print -or-

  1. hit the actions dropdown and email the special QR code to yourself (typically to forward along)

And this is what that email looks like:

On the device:

  • tap Gatekeeper

  • tap I have an iqKey

  • scan the QR code

This should open a browser, auto-login, and auto-direct to the right event in Gatekeeper for you.

Event or Bundle or General

Event direction is the most common use case.

Bundle direction is when we have 3 events happening in the same space at the same time but with a shared point of entry. A check in bundle allows us to scan and grant access if the individual is registered for any of the events in the bundle.

General is for high level presence recording; it's rarely employed but we left it in place just in case.

Background

  1. The scanning is locked to a scan-only user account that can't be used to access anything else.

  2. The user can toggle between events - it's not a lockdown tool, just a speedier access one.

  3. You can use it with your own device too. After being logged in hit the hamburger menu and change scan mode to camera.
