Resubscribes
Eventually people forget why they unsubscribed from your communications. In some cases we've inherited legacy opt-out data from a predecessor system. The time will come when either they want back in or you want them back in and launch a resubscription campaign.
Given their (emotional) distance from you, you'll never get them to create an account and update preferences that way. We have a simpler tool.
Features
On/off capture of resubscribe requests
Double confirmed via email before any data updates take place
Simple, clear reporting
(new) Automatic opt-in to all subscription categories upon confirmation
Configuration
Copy updates are managed by AlumnIQ so file a ticket if these need adjustment away from vanilla-acceptable.
profile:resubscribe_opening_statement - appears on the resubscribe page (https://YOUR_DOMAIN/resubscribe)
Default: "We'd love to share news and updates with you. Once you submit this form, look for a confirmation email - you have to click on the link in that message to complete the process."
profile:resubscribe_after_submit - appears after you submit your email address
Default: "Thanks! Check your email - we need to confirm you're resubscribing an address you control."
profile:resubscribe_thank_you - appears after you click the link to confirm in your inbox
Default: "Thanks! You'll start hearing from us again soon."
The process
constituent visits the resubscribe page
enters email address and submits
constituent receives a magic link via email that they must click to confirm they want to be opted back in
AlumnIQ resubscribes them to all subscription categories and removes any global opt-out flag applied to that email address
It's really important to note that we do not have an xid for these folks, so all manipulation of preferences is based on the email address.
Reporting
Mail > Reports > Resubscription Requests
From there you can:
export the whole shebang to Excel
see who's pending and complete (and when)
API
All changes to subscription preferences are included in the standard API resources already available.
