Cancel an Event
Event cancellation, in AlumnIQ-land, means it's absolutely not happening and you want all evidence of the event gone for good. This is permanent and cannot be reversed once executed.
If instead you simply want to stop collecting registrations for the event and la-de-da your way past that time slot, edit event and set a "do not sell after" date of yesterday on it. That's a whole different scenario. Don't forget to put up a sign on the door to redirect your hopeful attendees, though. It's polite.
The Process for Evisceration
Download and save for safekeeping the current event attendance report. This is super, super important.
Decide whether you want to offer advance warning to current registrants. If so, go to Reports > Scheduled Email and send one. Wait until that's out the door before you continue.
On the event attendance report screen, tap Superadmin Tools and then Cancel Event. If you don't see Superadmin Tools, you do not have permission to cancel an event.
Mentally confirm that this is in fact what you want to do.
Check the two boxes and then Cancel Everybody
Revel in the accomplishment of unleashing mass carnage.
On the event attendance report screen, tap Superadmin Tools and then Edit Event.
Under References, tap Remove from all References button. This will effectively remove the event from being registerable by any new folks coming through your flow.
Then, and only then, should you be able to tap Delete Event in the upper right corner and the process is complete.
FAQ
Do attendees get automatically notified when I cancel an event?
No.
Can they be?
Sorta? That's entirely up to you! You did do step 1, right? Step 2 is the easiest way but failing that use the report you saved to send them a BCC email from your own client if desired.
I just cancelled and deleted the event and now regret my life choices!
We regret to inform you that you already signed off on cancellation and deletion, and all sales are final. No backsies.
