Single-page Giving

Note

You’ll see us embrace the “SPG” acronym progressively more frequently as this new capability settles in.

AlumnIQ has introduced a modernized giving form. This new form provides a streamlined single-page donation experience while maintaining all the functionality you already rely on to convert browsers into donors.

Why We Built It

This refreshed donor experience addresses several long-standing requests:

  • Single-page experience - Donors complete their gift on one page instead of navigating through multiple steps. All fields are visible and the form feels more cohesive.

  • Simplified skin maintenance - The legacy form required custom HTML/CSS per path. SPG uses reusable “Public Skins” that can be shared across multiple paths with consistent branding.

  • Modern visual design - Refreshed aesthetics with contemporary form styling and layout options.

  • Accessibility improvements - Enhanced keyboard navigation, screen reader support, ARIA labels, and an optional high-contrast theme toggle.

Enabling SPG for a Path

To switch a path to use the new layout controls:

  1. Navigate to Giving > Paths
  2. Edit the desired path
  3. In the Skin dropdown, select one of your Public Skins
  4. Save the path

Once a Public Skin is assigned, the path will automatically use the new form. The URL will change from /giving/to/yourpath to /p/giving/to/yourpath.

Note: If you select “– STICK WITH OLD FORM WRAPPER DESIGN –” the path will continue using the legacy form.

Warning

The old form wrapper design (legacy giving) will only be available until 15 July 2026. Please start your migrations soon!

Before You Migrate

Before switching a path to SPG:

  1. Create a Public Skin - Go to System > Public Skin and create at least one skin with your branding. See Public Skins for details.

  2. Configure Global Settings - In Giving > Settings, set your:

    • Page title (browser tab text)
    • Favicon (32x32 PNG)
  3. Review Path Settings - Some path-level settings may behave differently. Test your configuration on a non-production path first.

  4. Update Any Direct Links - If you have links pointing to /giving/to/yourpath, they will need to be updated to /p/giving/to/yourpath after migration. The legacy giving system will forward requests for now, but will stop once legacy giving forms are retired.

  5. Test Thoroughly - Complete a test donation to verify:

    • Form displays correctly
    • All configured fields appear
    • Payment processing works
    • Confirmation page displays
    • Emails are sent
